The Queen Releases on Tuesday
The Queen amazes audiences
The Queen will release on DVD Tuesday. And this highly rated movie, will not disappoint. The Queen stars Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth, Michael Sheen as Tony Blair, and James Cromwell as Prince Phillip. This is a biographical movie that details the royal family and the British prime minister after Princess Diana’s death. The royal family had the tough predicament of facing the media and the public after Diana’s death. Helen Mirren does an excellent job of showing the poise and assurance that Queen Elizabeth showed on that day.
The Queen has tallied up 50 awards including an Academy Award showing that this film has captured the attention of its audiences. It has received high acclaim from numerous critics. An interesting fact that I picked up is that most of the movie uses real footage from after the death of Princess Diana. There are a few scenes that are shot at a press conference and outside of Buckinham Palace that were shot after the funeral of Princess Diana. There is also real footage of the funeral itself and interviews with the grief struck people surrounding the palace after the funeral. This movie does an excellent job of profiling the Queen in a tough situation.
