Seriously, if you like comedy, than you will like Little Britain. The TV series is the funniest British comedy show I’ve seen in a long time. This week they came out with the Little Britain Live DVD. This DVD documents the tour that David Williams and Matt Lucas did across Europe in promotion of Little Britain. This show is getting ready to hit U.S. soil, as it is planned to be done by HBO. This show will blow up, I’m telling you! Check the trailer out for Little Britain Live. Find this movie on ebay.

I saw this movie with no expectation aside from know Denzel Washington is a good actor so I presumed the movie would have some merit. This movie was well written and the actors did a fine job. I consider the movie a drama with hints of a thriller. This is the type of movie if your not following careful could miss some important and interesting parts of the story. From the beginning to the end the entire plot is intertwines back and forth making you wonder the actual flow of events.
After a long hiatus it’s nice to see Val Kilmer in a major production. He still commands a presence even when in a supporting role. Val and Denzel make a good team on screen when it comes to playing the law enforcement roles. Any type of crime drama they would pull off well.
James Caviezel is probably most recognized as of late for his role in The Passion of the Christ. In this movie his role is played well as a somewhat deranged patriot. He loves his country but he is so deep in his believes that he will use any tactic to achieve the end result. At the same time he baits Denzel to try to find a way to make things right. I could see James playing more of the bad guys in future films. Find this movie on ebay.

The internet is changing how movies are being watched
Imagine a world where you don’t even need to leave your house to rent a DVD. Times are a changing and the way’s that a movie is being delivered is also changing. From beta max, to vhs, to dvd, to hd-dvd, now to digital. Many new companies are popping up across the internet offering internet movie streaming services. Some are taking unique approaches. Cinema Now is taking this new digital delivery, and taking advantage of it.
On the Cinema Now web site, you can either buy, rent, or burn a digital copy of a movie. The prices are very similar to what a normal DVD would cost. Right now, they offer 500 different movie titles, but they are looking to expand this database. They offer a 7 day free trial and give you access to movies, concerts, and mature movies.More information on Cinema Now.

Hmm. Another romantic comedy release this week. What’s up with that? Anyway, Catch and Release comes out today on DVD. The movie is basically about a woman who struggles to cope after her fiance dies. She finds out that he has kept numerous secrets from her throughour their time together. It seems like this movie could be different than your typical romantic comedy. The cast includes Jennifer Garner, Sam Jaeger, Timothy Olyphant, Juliette Lewis, and Kevin Smith. Not a stellar cast, but it works. Jaeger and Olyphant are both television actors, that have starred in various TV series.
Kevin Smith is the biggest suprise here. I couldn’t believe he was in this movie. I guess he’s trying to get his acting career going. He’s no Silent Bob, that’s for sure. An interesting fact, Jason Lee was originally contacted to play this role, but he declined in order to play Syndrome’s voice in the Incredibles. So, Kevin Smith was casted. The director of this film is Sussannah Grant. She makes her directing debut in this film. She has written for such films as Ever After, Erin Brokovich, & Charlotte’s Web. So she is a master chick flick writer. If you want to score some points with the girlfriend, watch this movie with her!

I am a big fan of That 70’s Show. I think its a very clever approach to teenage life in the 70’s. That’s why I am placing this release as one of the top DVD new releases this week. There is such a weak crop this week. At least wide release wise. Anyway, if you haven’t seen That 70’s Show before, you better turn on FOX and watch an episode to get warmed up to it.
Plenty of the cast members on this show have gone on to do various high level projects. Ashton Kutcher (Kelso) blew up big from this show, see Punk’d, Dude Where’s My Car and Demi Moore (like anyone saw that coming). Mila Kunis (Jackie) is the voice of Meg on Family Guy. Topher Grace (Eric) was just in Spiderman 3, he played Venom. While Danny Masterson (Hyde), Laura Prepon (Donna), and Wilmer Valderrama (Fez) went on to play different roles here and there; they definitiely didn’t have trouble finding work.
All in all, I totally reccommend That 70’s Show for anyone who’s a fan of sitcom comedy. Good sitcom comedy.

Once in a while, a little romantic comedy is alright. I mean come on, I’m a girl, how could I not like that genre :). Tomorrow, Music and Lyrics releases to DVD. And I have mixed feelings about it. From the previews that I’ve seen, it looks pretty stupid. Kind of reminds me of the generic romantic comedy. This seems like it’s another example of Hollywood churning out crap.
The stars of this movie are the most notable, Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore, both of whom have had experience with romantic comedies. It seems like every movie Hugh Grant is in is some lame romantic comedy. I do like Drew Barrymore though. I think she’s really cute. In fact, she won the honor of being one of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful Women in the World, without makeup. That’s pretty good job on her part.
This movie is directed by Marc Lawrence, who has wrote for Miss Congeniality 1 & 2. He also directed the Sweet Valley High TV series in the early years of his career. Anyway, the plot of this movie is basically Hugh Grant is a washed up singer (maybe he can play a washed up actor in his next movie, lol), and is given the task of writing a chart topping song in a couple of days. But the poor guy has never written lyrics before. So he meets Drew Barrymore, falls in love, and all of a sudden can write inspiring lyrics. How romantic.

There aren’t a lot of good new releases this week; this might be an exception. I didn’t hear a lot about this movie when it was in theaters. But I will say that I am a Jude Law fan, and judging from the trailer, it likes like it could be one of the better releases this week. Check it out.
