In Debt We Trust, an interesting documentary
In Debt We Trust takes a look at the credit boom
I always like a good documentary and love to learn the ways of the world. I found a lesser known DVD releasing tomorrow and I thought I would go a little more in depth with it. The DVD is called In Debt We Trust. It is an informative piece about the ever growing credit card debt that grows in America. Basically, the people that earn lower wages are statistically ending up with more debts than people earning higher wages. It occurred to me on reading about this movie, that everyone that I know has a credit card. Think about it. How many people do you know that have credit cards? Let alone the millions of people that are in debt.
In Debt We Trust is directed by Danny Schechter, a former producer at ABC News & CNN. So he pretty much knows what he’s doing when it comes to making an ‘investagative report.’ The film also takes a look at how credit card companies do buisness and other important role players in the industry like the media, and government officials. It goes in depth to show how more and more young people each year become engrossed in unmanageable debt. And you’d be surprised what you hear come out of the mouths of some of the credit industry’s employees. It’s just an industry that you need to know how to manage. Educate yourself on debt people so you don’t have to have any.
