Happy Days Season Two just released
Happy Days reminds us of classic television
On Tuesday, Happy Days Season Two was released. And let’s face it, how cool is the Fonz? “Ehhhh..” Anyway its really comforting to see classic TV finally being released on DVD. I feel like it opens and brings DVD’s to a new generation, an older generation that can also learn the importance that DVD’s have provided OUR generation.
Another benefit of this show being released, is that the color and production qualities that may have been leading edge in the 70’s, are taken over by today’s production standards. The result is a much more visual experience for the audience. The little qualities and details that couldn’t be seen before, can now be seen with the technology we have today. When you think about it, it’s really amazing.
I picked up this interesting factoid of information about the show. Apparently at the height of Happy Days popularity, a call came to Paramount Studios from a teenage boy that was comtemplating killing himself. He said he wanted to talk to Fonzie. Luckily for the boy the Fonz decided to help. Henry Winkler (the actor who played Fonzie in case you didn’t know) took the call and gave the kid a talk about life, convincing him to give it another chance. The Fonz really has a power with people.
