Deja Vu, boom or bust?
Deja Vu draws interest from thriller/suspense fans
Deja Vu will release to DVD on Tuesday. I haven’t seen this movie advertised a lot. Which is very surprising because it has a pretty solid cast which includes Denzel Washington, Paula Patton, Val Kilmer, and Jim Caviezel just to name a few. The director is Tony Scott, the same guy that directed Man on Fire, Enemy of the State, True Romance, and Beverly Hills Cop II (hehe). All of those movies being pretty decent, especially Man on Fire. Anyway, my expectation are raised a little high due to a decent cast and director.
But honestly, what’s to seperate this movie from every other ‘looking back in time’ movie? In Deja Vu, Denzel Washington joins an FBI task force that uses satellite technology to look back in time to capture a dangerous terrorist. Is this for real? Hasn’t this been done in other movies (see Time Cop, Minority Report, etc). To me it seems over played, cheap, and down right cheesy. Why would I want to pay money for a movie that I’ve seen before that has a different plot twist and Denzel Washington? If you can give me a good reason, I will see this film. Otherwise, I’ll pass.

Amen. Saw some previews on TV and said, “No.” Didn’t see it, not planning on seeing it in the forever seeable future, etc., etc.
